The Aldo x Disney Collection was released on 3rd October 2019.
This collection was originally premiered at this years Disney D23 Expo. It was a huge hit and on October 3rd it was released in stores/online.
I love this collaboration so much, it's sophisticated, unique and modern and I just think it's great.
I didn't order straight away as I couldn't decide what I wanted. The picture above only shows half of the collection, there is another collection called the "Nostalgic Collection", (the picture above shows the "Modern Collection"). After a long debate, I ended up getting the shoes that you can see in the bottom right hand corner and I love them!
Once I ordered, they came just in a couple days. I have never owned a pair of Aldo shoes before so comfort and practicality wise I was unsure what to expect.
I tried them on straight away and I was blown away by how soft and comfy they were. I have had problems with my wide stubby feet for years, so it was nice how perfectly they fitted. Unfortunately I couldn't wear them until a week later as the weather here has been awful and they are definitely not water proof.
The box art is stunning and with this being the first thing you see, I was happy that there was so much attention the detail in the packaging, it's very bold and graphic and it stands out from any box I have gotten before.
However, when it arrived in the post I was disappointed to find the back of the box had been quite badly damaged. The package wasn't protected by anything and the shoes where just posted in a thin plastic envelop, for the price I paid I had hoped for a little more in terms of care for the package.
These shoes came in at £65 and I think for the uniqueness and quality of the product I think this is a good price, but as I mentioned I had hoped for a little more care in terms of the delivery.
The second part to the collection was the "Nostalgic Collection".
I wish I hadn't of taken so long to decide what I wanted, because I would have loved one of the bags from this collection which were all gorgeous and reasonably priced at around £50.
The bags sold out extremely quick from this collection and I was also obsessed with the denim boots which were £90.
This collection sold out much quicker than the "Modern Collection" did, I'm not entirely sure why, I don't know if it was the sentimental factor or the bright, bold prints and colours, but in my opinion both collections were perfectly put together and thought out.
In conclusion, I think this collection hit casual and smart attires as there were trainers, flats and heels all available, it was suitable for both females and males as both collections were available to each and the target audience hits many people; it worked for people in office jobs, at college, going to smart occasions or just around town.
I think this was a great collection and I hope to purchase more from them in the future.
